Peak District Weddings - Matt and Dan’s hygge-themed, Tissington Hall wedding

Hi everyone! Today I’m so happy to share with you some of the lovely little details from Matt & Dan’s cosy, hygge-themed Peak District wedding. Tissington Hall weddings are always such a pleasure to be part of, the rural location and neighbouring rolling hills provide an enchanting and unforgettable setting. It’s one of our favourite places - especially as the team there have become firm friends and are so lovely to work with!

Unique Wedding Ideas

Matt and Dan's cosy hygge-inspired Peak District wedding was an intimate affair set at the beautiful Tissington Hall. The couple decided on The Carriage House for their reception and wanted their Tissington Hall wedding to be full of warm, raw materials so naturally their venue was surrounded by the beauty of the Peak District.

Hygge, is a word a Danish word that describes a mood of cosiness and "comfortable conviviality", usually associated with shades of auburn, green, and natural earth tones. Matt and Dan used this perfect opportunity to create an intimate and snug atmosphere for their special day. We decorated the Carriage House with glass votives, lanterns, low-level fairy lights, and brass candle holders to enhance the space and bring out the warmth of the chillier November evening.

Tissington Hall Weddings

Matt & Dan chose Tissington Hall as their fantastic Peak District wedding setting, with the lovingly restored 18th-century Carriage House providing a beautiful backdrop for their intimate Peak District wedding. The positioning of the Carriage House allows for extensive views of the surrounding grounds and garden, perfect for capturing those special moments between couples (take a look at some of the gorgeous shots from the day). Because the styling of the Carriage House is simple and neutral, it allowed us to weave our wedding styling magic in the couples’ chosen colour palette of soft, warm Autumnal shades of yellow ochre, sand, caramel, rust, and hazel.

Event Styling

Working closely with Matt and Dan, we were able to realise their dream aesthetic through our combined services of event styling and florals. Along with an abundance of floral goodness, we provided lanterns, votives, place names, napkins, and table numbers. Moss, twigs, and leaves were a very important part of the couple’s perfect vision so we framed the aisle with an assortment of rustic metal and birch twig lanterns as well as potted ferns, which were then moved and repurposed after the ceremony to sit on the window ledges of the reception area.

The stationery featured the couple’s favourite plant, ferns, and featured gorgeous, natural greens, bringing the outside in. The guest tables were lined with a variety of fresh flowers and votives, and a sprig of dried flowers was laid on each place setting as an addition, tying the whole theme together.

We have found when just one creative is tasked to handle all of these elements, the results are a more fully realised, seamless concept for your wedding day. Having us organise the combination of your styling, stationery, and of course, wedding flowers eases a lot of pressure and also saves time for you and your partner!

Floral Installations

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Campbell’s wedding without an absolutely showstopping floral installation. Matt & Dan decided on a large scale floral hoop as well as a pillar design to welcome guests into the bar area and Carriage House. Doubling up as an extraordinary area for selfie opportunities, the pillar was filled with autumn wedding flowers using an abundance of textured seasonal materials including beech, birch, and oak in the grooms’ chosen colour palette.

Hope you loved reading about Matt & Dan’s cosy hygge inspired Peak District wedding. Tissington Hall weddings are really special to us, as we are super proud to be one of their preferred suppliers, and there truly is no better feeling than bringing a couples’ creative vision to life through wedding flowers and event styling.

Huge shout out to Chris Smith Photography for the stunning visuals, they do speak for themselves.
